Trash
Use bins with tight lids and bungee them closed. Put bins out the morning of pickup instead of the night before.
Pet food
Feed pets indoors or pick up bowls at night. Store pet food in sealed containers.
Bird feeders
Spilled seed draws rodents, and then the snakes and predators that follow them. Use catch trays and take feeders in at night if you have raccoons or bears.
