Squirrels and raccoons are great climbers. They get on the roof first, then find a weak spot.

Cut off the routes

Trim branches at least 6 to 8 feet from the roof. Put metal guards on wires and posts.

Harden weak spots

Replace damaged soffit and fascia, cover vents with heavy mesh and install a chimney cap. Use metal flashing at roof valleys and edges.

Remove the reasons

Do not leave bird seed or pet food outside. Keep trash lids closed, and pick up fruit and nuts from the ground.
