Protect Your Garden From Deer, Rabbits and Groundhogs
A garden is a buffet for wildlife. Protect it with the right barrier, not just a spray.

Deer
Deer jump high. A fence of 7 to 8 feet, or two shorter fences, works. Motion sprinklers and scent repellents help in the short term.
Rabbits and groundhogs
A fence of 2 to 3 feet with a buried or bent-out bottom keeps rabbits out. Groundhogs need a taller fence with the same buried base.
Plant choices
Deer and rabbits avoid strongly scented herbs and some flowers. No plant is deer-proof, but some are far less appealing.
